I can thoroughly recommend the Hotel de la Montagne, a very smart but reasonably-priced boutique hotel in downtown Montreal. You can get a good room for about 100 Canadian dollars at off-peak times. The area around it is buzzing and you can find the kind of club you want, not too far away but I think you could really impress your girlfriend by selecting this hotel and maybe you won't need to visit any clubs!!!!

There is one called the novotel. It is about four star and serves a great breakfast the next morning.
