It really depends on the style of dress. I assume you have a steamer or a good steam iron?
Hang it from a curtain rail so it is higher than you. Be prepared for this to take atleast an hour. Start with the bodice, you just hold the iron vertically and press the steam button.
As for the skirt and train, depending on the style, start at the part where it joins the bodice on a side seam, work slowly down, then go back to the top of the skirt and move across slightly and again work down. Keep going around, repositioning the dress as you go.
If it has several layers you will need to start with the underskirts and then work up to the outer layers. Although it does depend on your appliance, my old Polti would go through upto 6 layers, my Morphi Richards only one or two.
