Interested in spending weekend in York?

Question

My wife is disabled and uses a wheelchair. How wheelchair friendly is York. Not just city centre, like Birmingham, but throughout the city. Also could you recommend w/chair friendly but inexpensive hotels/ guesthouses. Thanks for your help.

York is a wonderful place and I am sure you will like it although some of the area near the Minster can get very crowded.

CHECKOUT the council web site and tourist info site.
there are a lot of old buildings that are unable to be 'adapted' for easy wheelchair access
