I am going to a concert in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Can someone recommend a hotel near that and the city?

I have never been to Belfast , so I am going to stay for a couple of nights, I would like to stay some where near some bars and restaurants and not too far from the arena. And reasonably priced, no Hilton recommendations please..

Is the Arena near the city centre. Any advice would help..

first off welcome to the greatest city on earth. days hotel 3 star maybe a bit warm with the heating on but a single room will have tv and a play station 2. 5 channel terrestial is free. games and satellite extra. the view from days depending on the direction are crap all except west, that way you see blacks mountain so ask for a west facing room. most of the staff are all migrants but have excellent english, the bar staff are brilliant and stays open till 3am also good security.
alternatively just off the falls road there are 2 bed and breakfasts one on the springfield the other on crocus street, st peters cathedral and clonard monastery close by.

there is no real need for a taxi, the city centre and surrounding areas are accesible by foot. word of warning, some taxi drivers have a habit of looking out for people walking and dragging a wheelie suitcase. if they stop and ask "dy'a wanna taxi love?" tell them to go away or you'll call the police. could be rapists or taxi drivers working off the meter (your not insured off the meter). good bars the crown, robinsons the eglington the botanic and cutters wharf (right on the lagan) places to avoid, the shankill at all times and the falls after 8pm. for really authentic irish bars in the city centre try kellys cellars, a bit stinky but good craic. dont ever be afraid to ask for help if lost, we will go the extra mile to help. but wait till you see blacks mountain its fuckin beautiful!

The Arena is close to the city - you'll be able to get a taxi to it from the City Centre for around £5 - but you can walk there easily if you ask for directions (difficult for me to write them down!). Jurys Inn and Days Hotel often do good offers and both are central. Another one that friends of mine stay in from time to time is Bennedicts. It has a good restaurant and busy, lively bar. You should be able to find details of all these if you search in Google. Hope this helps and that you have a good time in the city.

ive stayed in jurys a few times i think it was 80 odd quid for one night but you might get a deal for the two nights,most of the hotels in the city are quite pricey,maybe you could get a wee b&b near by thats cheaper,ive also stayed in he holiday inn that was slightly cheaper.There some nice places to eat inside the odyssey arena too.Have a great time,im sure you will!!

Hi there,
I think everyone has already answered your question but I have been to the odyssey for many concerts, it's a great arena, i have Disney on ice and Westlife booked for their in afew short weeks. There is bars, clubs and restraunts at the Arena, in a building right beside it called the Pavilliion which is actually joined to the arena. The Hilton is the nearest hotel but the Odyssey is literately in the city really, and such a short taxi distance from all the hotels. The Day's hotel would probabaly be the cheapest, there is also the holiday inn. The europa hotel is there too but is pretty expensive.

Stay in the city centre and you wont need taxis ,the Holiday Inns cheap and handy, don't go into any areas!! not just the Shankill cos the Falls is as bad !!!! stay in the city you will luv it here, the bars in the town are brill and sooooooooo friendly I'm Belfast born and bred so I'm a wee bit biased Oh Bar bacca,s very good Good Luck and I hope you enjoy My wee city :) :)
