Straightening your hair every day does dry it out. But, there are products you can use to protect it.

**1st, before straightening, try applying HELEN CURTI'S THERMASILK STRAIGHT & SMOOTH LEAVE-IN CREAM. It is head activated to achieve straightness & smoothness. It is in the hair product section at walmart. It is a purple bottol with the cap as the base at the bottom.

Dear Conair,

All my life I have struggled with my curly hair. It took me 45 minutes to blow dry my hairs to somewhat straighten, then use a straightener to finish it.

But even after all that, it still wasn’t straight. I recently saw your TV ad for your new Infiniti blow dryer with attached straightening brush. I told my daughter “that’s what I want for my birthday”!

Well today is my 43rd birthday and I’m using my new dryer. For the first time not only is my hair straight, but I didn’t have to use a straightener and it took less than 20 minutes to blow dry. And to think I was ready to try the very expensive straightening technique called thermal reconditioning.

I just wanted to thank you for a great produce! I’m sure I will wear it out and when I do I will purchase another one promptly.

I suggest useing CONAIRS INFINITI products and IONIC products because they realease the IONS which protect your hair.

As long as you use proper heat protection it should be OK, but yes heat CAN damage your hair if you're not careful.

A lot if you don't use a spray(try miracle mist by alberto V5) and it gives you spilt ends.

Try it every other day...invest in a great straightener and SUPER great products.

Yes it does. Try using heat protector sprays before using straighteners to lessen the damage, and use good straighteners like GHDs.

Not really I do it everyday,my hair is really soft,here is what you should do. Wash your hair like you do everyday blow dry it then strighten it,after you are almost satisfied with you hair stright buy some Paul Mitchell hair product its cleare and a light green pump,apply it to your hair then stright it once again. And then you're done it makes my hair feel more soft,and not damage at all I should know I stright my hair everyday and I dye my hair more then 5+times and I'm 13.

yep it frazzles it on the inside, it will look really dull and you will need to get it cut.

always use a heat defence product and have a week off straightening if possible.

yes it can...because ur are burning ur hair and thats damagein it! and that makes it break off and dry out. but if ur using good hair cream or straigin ur hair u should be good...but its not good to do it everyday give ur hair some time off! try sunsilk...for hair cream products..it keeps it health and shinny!

Yes, it does, especially if you are straightening dirty hair. You should only straighten at least every other day, and you should also be using a straightening serum that provides protection from heat styling.

it can over a period of time.... what I've noticed is when you use a good conditioner it makes a big difference. also trim your hair every couple months and you should be fine.

Straightening DOES damage hair, weather you hair is long, short soft, curly..whatever. People who take a shower then blow dry it a little, then straighten it are really killing their hair. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a straightener is basically "ironing" your hair, and frying it. The best way to minimize the damage of your hair is: taking a shower at night, letting it dry naturally over night, and if necessary then straighten some parts in the morning.

Also, if you straighten your hair everyday, then do not take a shower that same day or the next day. Leave at least one day between the days you straighten your hair. This will leave your hair much healthier, because you have put your hair through so much to straighten it, then as soon as you wash it out, you have lost all the hard work you put your hair through. Washing your hair every other day or every two days will also reduce the amount of oil in your scalp, and make it appear much more fresh!

yes without a doubt it dries the hair and causes the ends to spilt.
try using a serum before straightening and only use them 3 times per week. Every day will damage your locks hun.

erm yeah! putting that amount of heat directly on to your hair is like ironing your skin! always use a good heat protector and a good serum and give yourhair a break everynow and again!!!

yes i had to learn this the hard way. only straighten ur hair once or twice a week. now i have really bad split ends nd my hair looks really dry. o nd also use a cream that protects ur hair while straightening. it gives u a sleeker look, lasts longer nd will protect ur hair.
