Taxis in Auckland, New Zealand?

Approximately how much will it cost me to get a taxi from the airport to the Hilton Hotel in Auckland? Is this the best way of getting there?

The best way to travel is with Airbus, which is a shuttle bus that travels from the airport to hotels in the centre of Auckland. A full price single is $15, which is much cheaper than a taxi would be. Have a look at the website for more details.

When you come out of the airport there is a shuttle service (white minivan) - not sure what the name is but it is not the same as the company that the previous answerer has given. Their purpose is to take suburbanites to their houses but they are more than happy to take you to hotels also.

I'm from the northern suburbs of Auckland and this company typically charges $12-$13 per person to get to my house, which is further from the airport than what the Hilton is.

Only thing to be aware of is that all shuttle services charge per person, whereas a taxi charges just for the one journey, so if there are a lot of you then a taxi would be cheaper. But then if there are a lot of you you may not all fit in one taxi!

Taxis are genrarly pretty cheap there. I don't think I spent more than 15 NZ dollars on any trip around the city. There easy to get as well most the major streets have cab stands with lines of cabs. The buses seemed confuseing though.

It will cost you about NZ$60.
You can get an airport shuttle for about $20 per person. They are pretty regular - every 20 mins or so and will take you to your hotel.

Don't opt for a taxi, most of the taxi drivers cant be trusted, they will take you around Australia and back before you end up at the hotel in Auckland haha, stick to the shuttle bus, much more comfortable, honest and definately cheaper!
