Here are my answers, GENTLEMEN first:
FASTEST: ANDY RODDICK by far. He holds the official record for fastest tennis serve at 155 mph (250 kph, 09/27/04, Davis Cup tie with Belarus, vs. Vladimir Voltchkov). However, some records show that "Big Bill" Tilden blasted a 163 mph (263 kph) serve in 1931. But due to the difference in clocking techniques that time, this record is often not recognized.
MOST CONSISTENT: IVAN LJUBICIC. He always leads ATP in total number of aces in a year, and highest average per game.
SPECIAL AWARD for serving goes to ROGER FEDERER. He has the most stylish serve, which is too difficult to read. His serves do not need to be fastest to deceive the eyes of his opponent.
OTHER NOTABLE SERVERS: Pete Sampras, Joachim Johansson, Mario Ancic, Ivo Karlovic. (I don't know what's with the Croatians that they serve too hard! Maybe it's the height, or just a product of rigorous training.)
LADIES:
FASTEST: Brenda Schultz-McCarthy (130 mph). This is a new record, only set last July 2006 in the Western & Southern Financial Group Women's Open in Ohio. She reclaimed her record from Venus Williams (127 mph) served at the tournament in Zurich at the 90's.
MOST CONSISTENT: WILLIAMS Sisters. Do you notice how their opponents react each time they are on service? Such strong serves for ladies, at times faster than their male counterpart.
SPECIAL CITATION goes to MARIA SHARAPOVA. She has a punishing serve coupled with a very loud grunting. The problem is whether the serve or the shriek troubles the receiver (laughs....)
