A GRO in the Philippines in a bar is supposed to "entertain" the customers. They will usually try to provide some small talk, shoulder rub, sing karaoke and stuff in exchange for either a "ladies drink" (where they get a commission), tip or outright fee. Different bars have different ways of charging for the services.

MOST of them will also go home with you if you pay the bar a "barfine," so are more or less prostitutes

just a heads up , here in the philippines, there is another meaning for GRO. its almost synonimous to prostitutes. so you might want to refrain from using that word.

Basically a girl that you can bar fine for say 1000 pesos for the night. She can take you out shopping,dining,touring or just take you home and make your night more pleasant. Its up to you!But being that I can see your a gentleman I would suggest taking her to dinner and then back home.

GRO is basically a girl employed by a bar (usually Karaoke)to "sit" with you for companionship. There is usually a small fee but you're not obligated to have one but the majority of the girls are so hot that you would probably not resist. Enjoy!

It is the new term for hostess, and as so rightly said on here the usual means of paying for their services is to buy them a lady's drink. Usually coke or orange. this usually costs about three times as much as a beer (one third of a litre) that costs several times more than on the street. That's how you pay for the entertainment.
A word of warning here, in these establishments, if you take your wife or girlfriend, and they or you drink one of these drinks you will still pay the full price.
If you are single, and would like an hour or two of female company, just to talk maybe, it's a good way of doing it. If you are shy, they will make the talking easier for you.
