My wife and I want to travel through the Rockies then to Alaska on a cruise. Please recommend good carriers.?

It is my wifes' 60th birthday so I want to get the best trip going - 12 days to 3 weeks including travel
Any interesting variations on the itinery would be helpful as would any personal recommendations from yourselves
What I really need to start looking are names or, better still, e-mail addresses of the vendors of such trips
We do not mind linking two packages together if this proves best.
Have just returned from Russia on a great cruise from Moscow to St Petersberg with Noble Caledonia - so we have details of their Alaska cruises
Thanks in anticipation of your serious efforts to help

Since you've sailed with Noble Caledonia I assume you did your trip on the Viking Kirov. What a great trip!

I'd be glad to help you with recommendations for Alaska / Rockies. Please feel free to email me at gsa_stlmo@yahoo.com.

    Sounds great!
You can get cheap flights with "globespan" with one way offers.
Book your car rental with "holiday autos" or "hertz" who allow to do one way drop offs and book into the hotels directly before you go.
Good cruise lines in Alaska are "NCL" and "Royal Caribbean", most of Royal Caribbean cabins have balconies at really good rates.
Book the Gold Leaf option on the "Rocky Mountaineer" - a 2 day train ride through the Rockies visits Kamloops, Banff etc.
Best time to go is September.
What a good husband you are....just go into a travel agent and name these companies and they will be able to arrange it all for you and still be abta covered.

Their are quite a few companies around that will have something to suit your requirements.

The ones ive used in the past are Titan Hi-Tours and Cosmos Tourama, both offer the chance to do a tour through the rockies (even onboard the Rocky Mountaineer), combined with an Alaska cruise.

Travelbag can do some fantastic packages that are absolutely tailormade to what you want. They feature large and boutique hotels, car hire, guided trips, cruises and pretty much anything else you might want. And in my experience, they are also very reasonable.

Also, this website might help when deciding on your cruise -

I hope that you have a wonderful time - sorry I can't give any more specific information on the areas.

If you are interested in doing the Rockies and Alaska you can all together! There are Cruisetours that you can do and tailor to the length that you want to travel. There are a two cruise lines I would recommend for you with what you are looking for as well as your age group.

I want to talk further about this, but in all honesty I'm just out the door to bring my 3 year old nephew his birthday present =)

So I would like to give you more info. If you like feel free to email me and I can give you my contact info. Either way you go definitely you should use a professional to help you in putting this together. To make sure that your wife's 60th is one to remember!

As for a great Alaskan Cruise there are so many to choose from.

I guess it depends on when you are wanting to travel and what part of Alaska you want to see.

I have my own travel agency with an on-line booking engine and just looking in there I found an enormous amount of cruises and options to choose from.

We use all the major carriers so a respectable crusie line is not hard to find. Also we are very competitive on our prices so I dare you to compare.

Please visit our website listed below and if you need help finding one please do not hesitate to email me.

I've used royal caribbean several times and never had one single complaint. Service was amazing plus excellent food and courteous staff. If I was taking another cruise I'd use royal caribbean again!
