First you need is lots talent and drive.
Then you need original music and words that come from your life or your brain.
Once you are familiar with the words, key of song(s), and timing of the piece and phrasing of the music then you need to work on PROJECTING your voice from your guts and sound off like you have a pair.
You MUST FEEL and ACT OUT the emotion and spirit of the melodies and reall sing the words not just say them or mimic someone else. Really believe in what you are singing.
You also need lots of confidence, practice and showman ship.
It would help if you have "SOUL" in your mind, body, and spirit.
Feel the rythm. Let it Flow. Dont say or do anything you might regret later. Good luck.

HIGH NOTES BUT NOT OUT OF TUNE LIKE OLE CHRIS. HE SUCKS WHEN HE IS SINGING LIVE, YOU KNOW.
WANT TO HAVE AN EXCELLENT VOICE, TRY EGG AND HONEY WITH MINT. ITS GOOD FOR THE THROAT. ONE DAY ONCE , TRY PUSHING YOUR VOICE TO A HIGH PITCH BUT DO NOT PUSH YOUR SELF. GOOD LUCK

Many people who sing professionally attend singing lessons. There is a music corner in almost every city where people get together to learn to play instruments and sing. It's not very pricy and it's a great way to make new friends.

However, if you're not looking to spend any money, just keep listening to songs and trying to sing along. One of the best places to improve your voice is in the shower, because it echos and makes a good noise. Keep doing this everytime you have a shower.

If you can play the piano/keyboard, sing along with the notes you play. If you don't have a keyboard, on most mobile phones there is a composition centre. Just try humming along with the notes and gradually get higher.

You can also try food to help you. Try water before singing, and fruit with lots of natural juice. Do not eat chocolate, drink juice from a carton/bottle, drink milk, eat honey etc.
If you feel hungry, don't eat anything that will stick to the back of your throat.

    Hope this helps!

Having access to a piano keyboard helps as then you'll be able to practice different scales and arpeggios which are the building blocks of all vocal and instrumental music and at the same time you'll be strengthening your ear and vocal range.

Never try to be someone else, be yourself, and train your voice by going to a vocal coach, very much the same as an athlete, the more you practise the better the vocal cords get.
The first thing the coach will check is whether or not you are in pitch, as in,,,,perfect concert pitch. If you are close, they can get you there by extreme practise, if not, get another hobby, and a day time job

I love singing - I took some lessons a while back and they really helped me.

There is quite a lot to learn such as breathing techniques etc to get different results with your voice - I would suggest joining a class or taking private lessons so that you can learn how to get the best out of your voice.

of course, singing teachers can't perform miracles and suddenly over night turn you into Chris Martin.... it helps if you have a modicum of talent to begin with!

And.... practice, practice, practice - it works!

I wish you lots of luck.....
