Hi lovely people, could anyone tell me what to do in Marseille,France,we are stayin 4 a weekend in mid october

Our hotel is at Vieux the port, we are a young couple willing to relax and have fun. Thank you very much.

There many thing you can do!!!
--Drive (bus or taxi) the corniche.
--Go up to Notre Dame de la Guarde (st patron of fishermen) for the view.
--Go for a walk in quarter of town call 'le panier'behind the city hall
--May be go to a soccer game of Olympique de marseille.
--Le chateau du park Borely with egypt collection.
--l'Abbaye st Victor (religious building).
--Musee de la faience.
--Arts school museum
Tourism office adress,
4, la Canebiere.the main street that start on le vieux port.

p.s:Avoid, porte d'aix, quartier nord and around train station at night.
Rue de Rome good for shopping.

There are wonderful restaurants around the port. There are boat trips, including one to see the prison in which the Man in the Iron Mask was incarcerated. The Cathedral of Notre-Dame de la Garde is worth a visit and affords a wonderful view over all of Marseille. All in all, it's a very pleasant city with lots going on.

As well as looking at all the boats in the Harbour, there are lots of bars, restaurants and also you can take a boat trip to the Chateau d'if and go ashore to look at the castle/chateau on the island. It is where they filmed the orginal "Count of Monte Christo". I have been on the island and it is interesting even if it is somewhat run down in some parts. I wouldnt hesistate in going again.
