Could you please explain what a Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent System is?
I was looking at Hondas, and a couple of them come with this Theft deterrent system. I'm figuring those are the security systems. My question is whether the system are one of those active alarms that beep when activated or something like a passive where it doesnt allow the car to be stolen?

The Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent System protects your vehicle from theft. A properly coded ignition key must be used in the ignition switch for the engine to start. If an improperly coded key (or other device) is used, the engine's starting circuit is disabled.
When you turn the ignition switch to ON (II), the Immobilizer Theft-Deterrent System indicator light should come on for a few seconds, then go out. If the indicator starts to blink, it means the system does not recognize the coding of the key. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (O), remove the key, re-insert it and turn the switch to ON (II) again.
This indicator will also blink several times when you turn the ignition switch from ON (II) to ACCESSORY (I) or LOCK (O).
The system may not recognize your key's coding if the key is in contact with a key from another immobilizer system. If you have a key from another vehicle's immobilizer system, keep it separate.

The word immobilizer generally means that the ignition switch will turn off if the vehicle is being stolen.

Nope, this type of theft deterrent makes it so you can't start the car to move it if it's tampered with. An educated thief with a bit of time to work on it knows how to work around the system, but it will slow down or stop someone who is trying to grab the car and run quickly.

An immobilizer acts to prevent the vehicle from being driven away. Some feature a Panic Mode where with a remote, the engine can be shut down. For more info, see your local dealer.

Immoblizer means that if the alarm is tripped or not disarmed the vehicle will not start. whether that be killing fuel, or the starter signal or what have you. But do not think that it is impossible for the car to be stolen, far from it.
