Pain killer for a puppy?

Question

is there any painkiller i can give my poodle puppy, he has just stepped into a boiling cup of coffee and i cant get him to a vet until tomorrow morning. he is unsettled and i am sure he is in pain. i have washed his paw in cool water and cant see any marks, but he must have burnt it.

thanks to everyone pup is fine and not burnt, calmed down and no problem today.he is a right drama queen, better safe than sorry. i will have to but my coffee up higher....

Aloe Vera is a great relief for burns and it relieves the pain as well as the heat from the burn, never give a dog tylenol as it is bad for their liver, aspirin is a much better pain reliever for dogs.

Keep a cold compress on the paw and if you really need to give him something you CAN give him half an asprin

I know that when treating burns on a person they should not be kept wet. A burn should be loosely wrapped in gauze to allow it to breath with out being contaminated. Keeping it in water will only deteriorate the skin further.

DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY PARACETAMOL. This is a deadly poison for dogs, and WILL kill him. Stick with the cold water, it's the best thing you can do for now.

Keep a cool cloth on it, other than that not much you can do. Never give your dog a pain medication unless your vet says it is okay!!

ouch, the poor baby. I would just keep a cool cloth on it as much as possible, I would not take a chance on giving him any painkiller, even aspirin can be harmful to a dog. I would try to contact any emergency vet you may have in your area, they may be able to give you some further advice. Best of luck to you and the pup!!

To soothe a burn you must put the affected part in cool water for 20 minutes, its not too late to do that now.
Phone the vet; they have an out of hours service and can suggest a suitable dose of aspirin based on his body weight. Have a pen and paper ready when you call as you will probably be re-directed and will need to write down the out of hours phone number.

lots of water will make him better......on is foot but alot of the time dogs heel on there own ,by licking it

i have given my dogs aspiren, but that it a pup i wouldn't give him anything, just make sure his paw is clean for a few days and he should be fine if there are no markings from thr hot coffee on his paw.
