MGM Grand / Caesars Palace - Las Vegas?

Question

Can anyone tell him how far apart the MGM Grand is from Caesars Palace. I am looking to book a trip to Las Vegas for the first time and I can't make my mind up where to say. The Caesars Place is more central but more expensive which means less gambling money. Any advise?

I'm a native to Las Vegas. Both hotels are in good locations and they are relatively close to one another. The walk can seem closer than it actually is b/c of the size of the hotels themselves, but I would still say no more than a 5-10 minute walk, 2 minute cab ride. Both hotels are beautiful and you will not be disappionted with either one.

Ceasar's Palace has the forum shops that are very beautiful. There are also nice resteraunts located in the forum shops if you're into that thing. Both the MGM and Ceasars have good clubs, but again you are on the strip. There is a never-ending variety of hotels and sites to see in other hotels close by as well.

Go with the hotel with the best deal. Trust me...you will not be disappionted.

The exact distance between the 2 hotels according to mapquest is 1.44 miles or 3 minutes. Hope this helps

They are five minutes away from each other. Stay where you get the better deal........you can gamble anywhere on the strip. Personally I like the MGM Grand better...BUT it is HUGE

They are within walking distance of each other. I prefer the MGM over Caesars.

Caesars is definitely more expensive but it may be worth it. Just because you stay there doesn't mean you have to gamble there. Just across the street Barbary's (spelling is wrong I'm sure) Coast has $5 blackjack...and single deck!! Imperial Palace is just across as well. So cheap gambling is not going to be hard to find. Plus you are in the middle of everything. You may even get a room that overlooks the Bellagio water show. And you have to at least walk through the Winn and if you were at MGM that would take all day. If it's just a few dollars difference I would stay at Caesars...

Definitely Ceasar's--go to club PURE and BEFORE you book ask them if they will send the limo to the airport to pick up....or if they have any free upgrades...

You don't say why your choice is between these two particularly, but you should know that getting around on the strip can be difficult. Hotels that look close are actually a very long walk apart because the grounds and buildings are so huge. Someone said "5 minutes" and someone else said "walking distance", and believe me, not even in a taxi can you get there in 5 minutes because traffic on the Strip is terrible. If you want the central location, I can recommend both Bally's and Flamingo as being both nice but moderate in cost. I've heard Luxor is also in that category. To get around, it's easiest to drive and use valet parking, use taxis, or use the trolley that goes all the way up and down the Strip. The Las Vegas monorail is another possibility.
