Supranational is not a hotel company, but an international association of over 40 smaller, local hotel groups. Supranational does not own any hotels, in fact Supranational is "owned" by the companies that are its members.

Supranational Ltd. provides a booking engine and other technology to its members.

One member of the Supranational association is Spanish company Occidental Hoteles, who used to manage and market the El Pueblo Tamlelt until 2004. The owner at that time was Oued Sahara, a subsidiary of the Moroccan tour operator Sahara Tours.

In 2004, Sahara Tours was re-organized and a holding placed above it: Groupe Sahara. Another subsidiary, Sahara Hotels, was formed for the management and marketing of several hotels, including what has since been known as simply "Hotel El Pueblo Tamlelt".

Erroneously, the hotel still regularly shows up on booking websites as the Occidental El Pueblo Tamlelt. Occidental itself no longer lists the hotel on its website.
