How do I change the distributer cap on my renault clio alize?

I have a T reg renault clio alize. When I go to start her, she turns over but will not actually start. I have been told the distributer cap is probably wet and needs drying. The Haynes manual I have is not much help, where exactly is it under the bonnet and how do I get it off.
Thanks

Depending on what engine you have. Look for the 5 high tension leads from the spark plugs if its petrol and follow them back to the distributer. It will be round with one lead in the middle and the other four around the middle one. if you remove the leads be sure to mark 1 to 4 for which plug they belong so as to put them back in the righ order.
You should also really check the plugs, rotoe arm (inside the distributer cap) and the points as they may be worn and preventing you from starting the car. Shame you're not in Gloucester or I would have offered to do it for you.
